Compliance and AML for licensed gambling companies
Getting licensed is the start. Regulators now audit actively, monitor systems automatically and look through the whole supply chain. We run the recurring obligations so your license stays in good standing and renews without surprises.
The obligations that come with a license
AML/KYC policy design
Policies and procedures aligned with Romanian Law 129/2019 and the EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives, or the rules of your regulator.
Responsible gambling frameworks
Player-protection tools and policies, including integration with the national self-exclusion registry where it applies.
Regulator reporting
Monthly and annual reports prepared and filed on time, including ONJN reports due by the 10th of each month.
Change notifications
Platform updates, integrations and ownership changes notified within the regulator’s deadlines.
Renewals and annual fees
Annual compliance documentation and fee payments managed so licensed status never lapses.
Regulatory monitoring
Ongoing tracking of new rules, enforcement priorities and their impact on your setup.

| Technical recertification | Before deploying material updates | Recertification by an accredited laboratory and notice to ONJN |
| Self-exclusion registry | Continuous, since June 2025 | Honor exclusions where your services interface with player accounts (ONJN Order 79/2025) |

- Licenses issued in 2016 reach their first 10-year renewal in 2026, with a full compliance review
- ONJN assesses technical integrations, reporting history and past breaches at renewal
- B2B providers must not serve unlicensed B2C operators and must apply technical blocking
- Failure can lead to license revocation and financial penalties
- ONJN uses automated monitoring and has expanded access to operator systems
- GEO 7/2026 adds local authority approval for land-based venues
Frequently asked questions
What happens if a B2B provider serves unlicensed operators in Romania?
ONJN can blacklist the provider, require internet providers to block access, require payment processors to refuse transactions, and impose fines. The Class I operator using the provider also risks suspension or revocation of its own license.
Can you act as our MLRO?
We design AML policies and support your money laundering reporting function. Whether an external MLRO is accepted depends on your regulator; we confirm the setup for your license.
We hold a license elsewhere. Can you manage that too?
Yes. Tell us the license in the intake questions and we set up a compliance calendar for that regulator’s reporting, renewals and notifications.
Keep the license you worked for.
