Denmark licenses online gambling through Spillemyndigheden, the Danish Gambling Authority, under the Gambling Act (Lov om spil), in force since 1 January 2012. Private operators can hold an online casino license (slots, table games, live casino, poker and bingo), a betting license or both, each for up to five years, with no cap on the number of licenses. Since 1 January 2025 suppliers of casino games and bet processing need a B2B supplier license. EU/EEA companies apply directly and others appoint an approved Danish representative. Operators pay 28% gambling duty on gross gaming revenue, verify players with MitID, check the ROFUS self-exclusion register at every login and cap bonuses at DKK 1,000. A bill re-tabled in October 2026 would ban betting ads around live sport from 2027.
